A New Wave

Now & Then
I think that we all breathed a sigh of relief when we were released after being restricted and restrained in 2019/20. It seems so long ago now doesn't it; a distant memory.
We are still observing the aftermath of what was a bitter-sweet time for many. Some enjoyed being at home spending time with friends and family, others enjoyed working from home; reaping the benefits of Zoom calls in their pyjama bottoms, not having to commute and saving a fortune on transport. Others missed the social aspect of work, and the conversations and interactions with colleagues, friends and family. Many had time to re-evaluate their lives and made brave, life-changing decisions.
The one thing that is consistent when speaking to others is that everything changed. Everyone was affected somehow (whether positively or negatively); I could be here for a long time writing about all of that. 😊
A New Wave?
Yesterday evening as I was driving home from work, I took my normal root and passed a couple of billboards along the way. I noticed a huge new poster with a black woman, possibly in her mid-thirties, and it was speaking of HIV testing. I'd just finished work so my mind was winding down, but it was alert enough to ensure I didn't get into an accident; but that image and the words played on my mind throughout the evening.
A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself,
But the simple pass on and are punished
Proverbs 22:3
What came to me was an article I recall reading quite a few years ago in relation to the COVID vaccine (please find link below), and what could possibly take place post vaccine. There are many things that are now coming to light, but this one is currently weighing heavily on my heart.
I am not against medical intervention, as I have received wonderful support from our Health Care systems in the UK and beyond. Holystic Health-Health with God's perspective, is one of the keys for what is happening now and I believe, for what is to come. The bible is clear that the people of Israel were destroyed due to lack of knowledge; they rejected knowledge (of God) and forgot the laws of God (Hosea 4:6).
Faithfulness
A wise older woman named Mary once said to me,
All God asks of us is to be faithful...
Sometimes it is easier said than done, we saw that during the pandemic. We felt our hands were tied as many of us we were caught by surprise; there weren't any alternatives, so what were we meant to do? How would we take care of our families, pay the bills, see our family members and socialise? The choices weren't easy.
If we are again faced with decisions about our health and that of our family and community, would we be able to make different and bolder decisions because we know that the God of Isaac, Abraham and Jacob is ever present today? Do we have systems in place? Are we sharing that information with our brethren? Do we believe that God has gone ahead and sent men and women to help to prepare His people?
How much better to get wisdom than gold!
And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.
Proverbs 16:16
By God’s Spirit and for His glory.
